Hi there! I hope you all had a great weekend. For those of you who don't know, Matt got a new HVAC job this last week, so this will probably be one of the last full weekends our family gets, considering in the summer he can work up to 80 hours they told him. This weekend we spent time as a family and didn't have a single chore planned, and it was awesome! Sure, the house may not be the cleanest, and there is a pile of laundry I need to put away on the bed, but this weekend I decided I wanted to simply enjoy my son and my husband.
On Friday Carter and I spent the day watching veggie tales, playing with his piano and favorite toys. I cherish these simple days because I know that soon we are going to have another little babe and our days might be overwhelming and hectic. It won't be just the two of us anymore during the day & we won't get as much play time as we do now.
Saturday was the last day my dad was staying with us, so we went and got subway and headed to the park for a family picnic. We haven't taken Carter on a picnic yet, and although he had a bottle instead of sandwiches, I think its safe to say he enjoyed his first picnic. He loved looking at the trees and all the people that were there. I love watching him take in new experiences; he always has the biggest eyes.
Sunday we took Carter to his very first baseball game! Meme and Papa got us tickets to tag along and it was so fun! It was SO hot outside today! We used what felt like a whole can of sunscreen and my mom, Carter, & I still ended up moving to the shade during the game. But, it was still so fun & Carter looked adorable in his baseball jersey. I want to buy it in every size so he always has one! We parked maybe 3 minutes from the gate, and by the time we had gotten to the car, Carter was fast asleep. We had no doubt he would be passed out before we got home because he stayed awake the entire time!
We had so much fun this weekend and are now watching Moana & having a lazy evening. Who knows if I will even make dinner or if we will have cereal or pizza. But as for that laundry and organizing I have to do, that can wait until tomorrow.
