Hawaii- What to do With Kids in Maui
We had such a great time visiting Hawaii last month! It can be so challenging traveling with young kids but the memories and experiences that you get to share make every tantrum worth it! When traveling with kids I find it so helpful to plan out our activities and jot down a few places to eat that the kids might enjoy! As the kids get older, our activity list will change, but right now there are a limited amount of things that we can do with them- especially in a place like Hawaii. We looked into some of the tours that our hotel offered and most of them were snorkeling, zip lining, or jumping off waterfalls, which obviously don't work for our family. So I wanted to share with you our experiences and what we found to be great with our little ones!
We stayed over in Kaanapali at Honua Kai Resort & Spa. The resort was beautiful, but I wish the beach was a little bit more kid friendly! The resort did have a great pool area for the little ones and also a (very) small splash pad that they could play in.
The views from our room were beautiful and we enjoyed eating breakfast on the patio and looking out at the ocean!
The kids also enjoyed their pineapple drinks down by the pool!
Things to do
Iao Valley Hike- This hike was perfect for our little ones because it is paved! Adalynn is pretty good at walking already but definitely stumbles often enough that we knew she needed to have a paved walkway! It was so beautiful walking through the garden area and the views were amazing! If you are just traveling with an older toddler, I have heard great things about Twin Falls Hike.
We ultimately chose Iao Valley because it was closer to where we were staying and paved.
Maui Ocean Center- We thought this was an awesome little aquarium and the kids both enjoyed every second of it! All of their animals they have are local to Hawaii and they even had a tunnel that you could walk through!
Fruit Market/Olowalu Juice Stand- The kids loved running around this fruit market and adding some of their favorite fruits to the basket! Not to mention, their fruit is amazing!
Beach- There are so many great beaches in Maui! Be sure to check out Baby Beach and Kaanapali Beach!
Places to Eat:
There were only two places that we really enjoyed and would go back to!
Slappy Cakes- This was one of our favorite places! You get to pick your batter, mix ins, and toppings!
Honu Seafood & Pizza- Not only was this restaraunt delicious, but the view was amazing!
