Long Beach, CA

We went to Long Beach last weekend and it was so much fun! We went for a quick trip and left Friday after swim class then came home Sunday evening! It was definitely an eventful trip with all 3 kids, but as always, it was so worth it! We stayed at the Ayres Seal Beach Hotel and it was exceptional! I was blown away by their continental breakfast! They had a cereal bar, a pastry area, fruit, yogurt, and a cook making eggs, egg white scrambles, hash browns, French toast, pancakes, sausage, and bacon! The kids each had at least 3 pancakes every morning! It was seriously so good! If we would have gone to iHop it would have cost us well over $50 to eat what we got included in the hotel stay!

Saturday morning we drove about 15 minutes over to Seal Beach! We wanted to get there in the morning so we could *hopefully* take the kids back to the hotel and let them nap. This beach has a parking lot right there so it was really convenient and easy to find parking! The kids had so much fun playing at the beach and the weather was great! It was overcast but not too windy so it was just right! The items we brought with us on the beach were a few towels, a blanket, two chairs, sand toys, sunscreen, sunglasses, and some snacks! Adalynn would not get off the blanket or chair! She was not feeling the sand for some reason this morning at all!! Carter and Daddy ventured down by the water to play for a little bit! Then they enjoyed their trail mix snack, even though Carter dumped it all over his towel! We stayed about 2 hours which was perfect because after I fed Kennedy she fell asleep and it was getting close to lunch and everyone's nap time!

There was a Chick-fil-a right next to our hotel so we picked up that for lunch then took the kids back to the hotel with hopes they would nap.... they did not. We decided until they aren't taking naps anymore, we will probably be sticking to either an airbnb or a two bedroom hotel room. It is too hard to nap when they know they are on vacation and there are so many fun things to do!

Once we realized they weren't going to nap at all, we decided to just go ahead and move onto the next activity! We headed about 30 minutes over to Shoreline Village! Here we rented a Surrey from Wheel Fun Rentals! It was fun, then terrible, then awful! Any child under 18 has to wear a helmet and lets just say Carter was not pleased he had to wear a helmet! He was okay for a little bit but ultimately we spent about 20 minutes of the hour we paid for on the bike because after that he was beyond done! But those first 10-15 minutes were really fun and the kids really seemed to enjoy it! We decided to just head back and get the kids some Ice Cream!

After ice cream we could tell they were getting tired! They both woke up early and didn't nap at all so instead of eating dinner out we decided to pick up Panera and bring it back to the hotel so they could eat and then watch a movie before bed! Going to restaurants with cranky toddlers isn't fun for anybody!

The next morning before we left we headed back to Shoreline village because right next door is the Aquarium of the Pacific! It was a really cool aquarium and the kids had a blast! We spent about 2 hours walking around checking out all the different exhibits! They loved the seals and pointing out every time they saw Nemo and Dory! It was the perfect morning activity to tire them out for our drive home! Of course we couldn't leave before feeding the baby while Daddy showed them the cool boats!
